With hearts that believe in God’s decree and destiny, and with profound sorrow and grief, Al-Musallah Magazine extends its condolences to the Libyan people and to members of the armed forces on the passing of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army

Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, and his companions:
Major General Al-Faitouri Khalifa Salem Gharibail,
Brigadier Mahmoud Juma Al-Qatyoui,
Advisor Mohamed Al-Assawi Dhiab, and
the accompanying photographer Mohamed Omar Ahmed Al-Mahjoub.

They passed away after a distinguished national military career marked by service and responsibility. The late General was born and raised in the city of Misrata and was a graduate of the 28th class of the Libyan Military Academy, from which he graduated in 1987. Throughout his career, he served in several military units and formations until he assumed, in 2020, the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army at a critical moment in the nation’s history.

The deceased is considered one of the most prominent military leaders in the post–February 17 Revolution period, having played a pivotal role in efforts to unify the Libyan military institution. He participated in meetings of the Joint Military Commission (5+5) and became notable for his role in containing a number of military conflicts that occurred in the capital and areas of western Libya, making him an influential figure in both the military and political arenas within the Government of National Unity.

Since assuming his post, the late General pledged to work toward building a unified, regular Libyan army capable of protecting national sovereignty and ending the state of division within the military institution.

As Al-Musallah Magazine extends its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the family of the deceased, his relatives, colleagues, and all members of the Libyan Army, it prays that Almighty God envelop him in His vast mercy, grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and bestow patience and solace upon his family and loved ones.

Indeed, we belong to God, and to Him we shall return.
