The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, attended this Thursday morning the conclusion of the activities of the First International Legal Conference for Military Justice

sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, which was held under the slogan “The Role of Military Justice and Related Entities in Combating the Phenomenon of Terrorism and Supporting State Stability.”

The closing ceremony was also attended by the Director of the Office of the Minister of Defense, a number of Libyan army officers, and military attaches accredited to Libya, with the participation of an elite group of specialists in the field of law at the local and international levels, including members of judicial bodies in the public and private judiciary, and an elite group of academics and researchers.

The conference is a scientific and national forum par excellence that brings together all state institutions, including military and civilian personnel, and all interested parties and legal researchers from all parts of the country, east, west and south.

Many scientific papers were presented as a result of nine months of hard work on (legal problems, realistic challenges, and discussing all obstacles to combating the phenomenon of terrorism in Libya).

The scientific supervision of this work was entrusted to a scientific research committee of national legal academic figures, and through the scientific papers and dialogue contributions that were presented, a package of recommendations and results were drawn, the result of scientific dialogues and discussions, which would confront the obstacles and solve the shortcomings in combating this phenomenon.

It is noteworthy that the conference was organized by the General Authority of Military Justice, under the supervision of the Libyan Ministry of Defense and with the support of all military and security agencies, and was chaired by Dr. Mabrouka Al-Muhajir, amid an intense and active presence of a number of ministers, deputy ministers, ambassadors, military leaders, academics, and members of the civil and military judiciary from various regions of Libya.
